In-Studio Convention Week

Get ready for an exciting four-day in studio convention this summer, running from August 4th to 7th! This is a mandatory event for all Momentum and Pre-Professional dancers, and it's going to be a blast! From 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM each day (with a 30-minute lunch break), your dancer will experience a variety of high-energy classes in Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet, Conditioning, Turnout and Alignment, Tap, Musical Theater, Lyrical, Hip Hop, and more! We’ll have Meena Jay, Kaiden Currie, and Colin Niska rotating between two rooms—Mini/Junior and Teen/Senior— we may move your child into different rooms based on their level. This is the perfect opportunity to work on new skills, get inspired, and connect with fellow dancers. The total price is $350 or $117 per month, with the first payment due at sign-up and the remaining two payments scheduled for June 1st & July 1st.

Meena Jay (she/her) is a New York City based artist raised in Boxford, Massachusetts who grew up training intensely in styles such as ballet, jazz, contemporary, tap, and acrobatics. After high school, she went on to attend Marymount Manhattan College and joined the class of 2023 where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.F.A. in Dance with a modern concentration, and a B.A. in Business. There she got to perform works by artists like Jenn Freeman, Sidra Bell, Cameron McKinney, Katy Pyle, and Pascal Rioult. She’s spent her summers traveling and performing in various training programs including The Rockettes Conservatory, SpringboardX, chuthis. in Las Vegas, and Orsolina28 in Moncalvo, Italy training under professionals such as Hannah Sides, Danelle Morgan, Paul Lightfoot, Sol León, Peter Chu, Alexandra Wells, and Juliano Nuñes. Most recently, Meena completed her first season as a Radio City Rockette in The Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. In addition, Meena has been seen performing at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Fred and Adele Astaire Awards, Boston Contemporary Dance Festival, and in Marymount Manhattan College’s Theresa Lang Theater. 

Meena uses her enthusiastic personality, unique movement style, and dedication to the art form to teach dancers around the country. Through her extensive knowledge and experiences, she continues to forge an inclusive space that fosters creativity and connection inside and outside the classroom!

Kaiden Currie (he/him) is a highly accomplished choreographer, performer, and competition judge, currently pursuing a B.A. in Film and Media Studies and Dance at Columbia University. A nine-time IDO World Tap Dance Champion and winner of over 30 national dance titles, Kaiden’s passion for dance is matched by his commitment to inspiring and educating the next generation of performers.

His performance credits include the Chita Rivera Awards, the Joyce Theater, Hollywood Tap Festival, and Debbie Allen’s Unearthed exhibition. He also had the honor of opening for country music star Kane Brown at the MLB All-Star Game. As a mentee of Chloe and Maud Arnold and Aleksandr Ostanin, Kaiden has worked extensively as an educator, teaching for the American Tap Company, StarDance Alliance, The Chloe and Maud Foundation, Gravit8 Dance Competition, American Dance Awards, Tap Academy Prague, and the Debbie Allen Dance Academy.

In addition to his performance and teaching career, Kaiden is a respected competition judge, bringing his expertise to stages nationwide, including American Dance Expo (ADE). Originally from Northeast Massachusetts, he continues to inspire dancers and captivate audiences around the world.

Colin Niska (he/him) is a dynamic dancer and choreographer from the North Shore of Massachusetts. With a strong foundation in competitive dance, he has excelled on regional, national, and international stages. In 2016, he joined the American Tap Company, representing the U.S. at the International Dance Organization’s World Tap Championships in Reisa, Germany. Competing three times, Colin and his team secured gold medals in 2016, 2019, and 2023.

Beyond competition, Colin has expanded his artistry into professional and collaborative work. In the summer of 2023, he was a rehearsal swing dancer for Norwegian Cruise Line’s Marino 12.0 production cast. He is also actively involved in the Western Massachusetts arts scene, performing and developing projects with rising musicians Ali McGuirk and Kimaya Diggs.

Currently pursuing his B.F.A. in Dance at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, Colin is a dedicated member of the Five College Dance community. He trains under esteemed faculty members Shakia “The Key” Barron, Lauren Cox, Jenna Riegel, Angie Hauser, and Duane Lee Holland Jr. Most recently, he was cast in a new original work by Shakia “The Key” Barron and performed in a restaging of Spent Days Out Yonder by legendary choreographer Bill T. Jones, set by former Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company member Jenna Riegel.

Colin continues to push the boundaries of his craft, blending technical excellence with innovative artistry across multiple dance genres.
